Purpose

OSLC is an Oasis standard (about OSLC) the purpose of which is to enable integration between application and product lifecycle management tools. The standard is meant to support collaboration between tools general purpose tools from various commercial vendors as well as custom-built solutions. OSLC was originally conceived by IBM 2009-2010, and the initial work was a multi-company effort heavily focused on IBM Enterprise Lifecycle Management technology. Since the growth and adoption of OSLC have steadily increased.
