Overview
A “Baseline type” in this context is a basically a label for configuration items. Baseline Types serve as the foundation for structuring and tracking changes in configurations by defining specific versions or states that are verifiable and traceable, like quality gates. Baseline types are especially relevant during the baseline and template usage use process. This page describes how to create and manage baseline types.

Navigate to Admin Area: Access the admin area of Smartfacts CDCM. (Cogwheel icon at the bottom left in the side menu)
Select Baseline Types
Choose an action
To add a baseline type, click on button Add Baseline Type
Set the following attributes
Name (mandatory)
Displayed name in the UI
Key (mandatory)
Key must be distinct and is used as a identifier
Description URL (optional)
An URL leading to a description for the baseline type
Description (optional)
An internal description for the baseline type
Click on the Save button
To delete a baseline type, click on the more button (three dots) and select Delete
In order to assign a baseline type to a configuration item it has to be enabled in the configuration area.
in admin area navigate to “Configuration Areas” Configuration Areas
select to configuration area where you want to enable baseline types
in the form click “baseline types” baseline types input field and use the picker to select which baseline types should be enabled in this configuration area
