Storage Locations

Overview

A Storage Location is a place from where work products can be referenced within CDCM. In order to reference a work product, a Configuration Area must have a set of storage locations enabled. See

Configuration Areas .

CDCM does support the following storage locations:

• CDCM (for internal work products) - built in and usable without enabling it in a CA.

• Software Application

• OSLC Configuration Provider

• Physical Location

• Teamwork Cloud

• CodeBeamer

• GitHub

• Sharepoint Online

Set up a Storage Location

How a storage location has to be set up depends on its type.

1. Navigate to Admin Area: Access the admin area of Smartfacts CDCM. (Cogwheel icon at the bottom left in the side menu)

2. Select Storage Location

3. Click on the Add Storage Location button at the top right side

4. Select a type from the drop down list

5. Depending on the type you choose, configure the following:

   1. Software Application, Physical Location

      1. Name

      2. Work Product Reference Name

      3. Work Product Reference Hint

   2. OSLC Configuration Provider

      1. Base URL

         1. Enter the base URL that provides the rootservice

      2. Name

         1. If a valid rootservice can be found, the software suggests a name based on the tool provided by the base URL

   3. Teamwork Cloud

      1. Name

      2. Base URL

Edit a Storage Location

1. Navigate to Admin Area: Access the admin area of Smartfacts CDCM. (Cogwheel icon at the bottom left in the side menu)

2. Select Storage Location

3. Pick a Storage Location from the list

   1. The list of Storage Locations can be filtered by name, type and URL by typing in a filter below the table header. Also, they can be sorted by clicking on the table header.

4. Click on the more icon (3 dots) and select Edit

5. Input changes and click on Save
