Types

Smartfacts has two types of notifications:

  1. Manual Subscriptions: Smartfacts allows you to subscribe to a list of events e.g. an artifact has been changed, a comment has been added to a certain artifact etc. Every subscription has to be defined in a context. This means that you can pick any node in the project tree and add a subscription to a certain type of event to this node.

Example: You add a subscription to the event "Comment Added" to a package in a model.
Result: Whenever a comment is added to a model element or diagram which is located under the package you have subscribed to, a notification will be generated.

Manual Subscriptions

Manual subscriptions to events have to be managed explicitly. You may add manual subscriptions to the following elements of your project tree:

At these nodes of the project tree...

...these events can be subscribed

  1. A diagram or model element has been changed or removed

  2. A user has commented on a diagram or model element

Investigating a Subscription

Selecting a subscription will expand the tree at the relevant node and allow you to add other subscriptions or delete the subscription.

Auto Notifications

Auto notifications always apply. You do not have to subscribe to them explicitly.
