The User Interface

These are the main elements of the Smartfacts Platform:

 

  1. Main Menu: You find some specific Features in the main menu that are not used very often, like changing the Model Warehouse and configuring the Model Warehouse profile.

  2. Screen Menu: Features that are used often. My Project is used very often.

  3. Project Picker: The Project Picker is a drop-down that presents all projects in which the user is member of.

  4. Global Configuration Picker: The project owner may chose if he wants to run the project with Smartfacts as a provider for global configurations, IBM ELM / GCM as a provider for global configurations or without global configurations.

  5. My Content: This button opens a window that provides multiple ways to select content: My favorites, search, navigation in the project tree, version diff and history.

  6. Notifications: Various events trigger notifications, e.g. when a team member publishes a model, or adds a comment or invites you to a review.

  7. Search: This provides a direct access to search. You can also use the search under My Content. The results will be the same.

  8. My Project: Having selected My Project opens a pane with all content of the project and the team members. If you chose to work with global configurations, the tree will be filtered by the global context you have set under (4)

  9. Split View Compartments: The Smartfacts platform contains split view compartments left and right. Content like diagrams, requirement hierarchies, pages, analysis, etc. can be opened in these two compartments as tabs.
