Managing the Smartfacts Instance
The PoC deployment
In PoC scenarios we provide an openLDAP integrated with Smartfacts. Users are added to the Smartfacts PoC instance via openLDAP. There is no option to directly link to an Enterprise LDAP.
Hardware requirements
CPU:
x64 / AMD64 processor - ARM based servers will not work
Minimum: 6 Cores
RAM: minimum 32 GB
Hard disk - SSD NVMe recommended: minimum 150 GB
Most of the data will be stored under
/var/lib/rancher/k3s
Operating System: Linux
All Linux distributions running K3s can be used.
Deployment on Kubernetes
We strongly recommend to deploy Smartfacts on Kubernetes. PoCs will ONLY be supported by MID based on Kubernetes:

The regular on-premises deployment:
If you are using Smartfacts in a production environment, then Smartfacts allows to directly connect to your Enterprise LDAP and synchronize groups of users to the CAMPÂ and your Smartfacts instance.
MID also offeres a cloud version of Smartfacts
The technical factsheet provides the components used by Smartfacts.
The Smartfacts OpenAPI allows to use the layer of REST services to access Smartfacts directly from 3rd party applications.
