The CDCM application provides users with multiple tools to quickly locate and access the information they need. Navigation is designed to be intuitive, flexible, and tailored to user workflows, offering both quick access to frequently used or recent items and powerful search capabilities for more specific needs. This section covers the three primary navigation methods:
Favorites - A user-customized list of frequently accessed units and configurations.
Recents - A chronological history of recently viewed concepts.
Search - A comprehensive search tool with advanced filtering options.
Each of these methods is explained in detail below.
Favorites
The Favorites feature allows users to easily access units or configurations they use frequently. Users can favorite items by clicking the star icon next to the title of a unit or configuration. Favorited items are conveniently listed in the sidebar tab labeled with a star, making them easy to find.
Key features of Favorites:
Favorited units and configurations are displayed in a single list for quick reference.
Items in the list can be sorted by type (e.g., unit or configuration) or title, helping users organize their favorites effectively.
Favorites are persistent, allowing users to build and maintain a personalized navigation list over time.
Recents
The Recents section provides a chronological history of the most recently viewed concepts, making it easy to pick up where you left off. This feature is located in the sidebar tab labeled with a clock and an arrow.
Key features of Recents:
Displays a history of recently viewed items, starting with the most recently accessed.
Users can toggle between showing recent units and recent configurations, allowing them to focus on the specific type of concept they need.
Automatically updates as you navigate through the application, requiring no manual input to maintain.
Search
The Search feature offers powerful tools for finding specific units across the application. It supports both a local search within the current configuration area and a global search across all configuration areas.
Key features of Search:
Search Scope: Users can toggle between searching in the current configuration area or across all configuration areas.
Filters for Improved Results:
Tags: Specify tags to ensure search results include only items with the selected tags.
Concept Types: Narrow results to items of specific concept types.
Created Date Range: Define a range to find units created within specific dates.
Modified Date Range: Find units based on their last modification date.
Searchable Properties: Specify which property values of units should be considered during the search. Only property types that have been configured to be searchable are selected here (see Properties and system properties)
Export Results: Search results can be exported to an Excel file by clicking the "Excel Export" button, enabling offline analysis or reporting.
By leveraging these navigation tools, users can efficiently access their most relevant and critical data, whether through personalized favorites, recent activity history, or a detailed search process tailored to their needs.
