OSLC Connector for Confluence

Feature Overview

  • Reference OSLC based content from within a Confluence page
You can also add a unidirectional reference to any artifact of the supported Jazz applications from within any text field of a Jira issue, e.g. a description or a comment. Hovering over the reference will show you the delegated UI of the referenced artifact.

  • OSLC based and full configuration supported
The links you build are based on OSLC, configurable and fully comply with the IBM Jazz architecture standards. You may configure link types and add as many Jazz applications and global config servers as you like.

  • GC ON and GC OFF supported
The integration can be run with global config management enabled or disabled. While Confluence pages are not configured, you can still predefine a global configuration as a context for your page. As a result, only those artifacts which are part of the predefined global configuration will be shown on the Confluence page.

  • Reference any modeling tool content via Smartfacts
Using the Engineering Collaboration Platform Smartfacts, allows you to add references to any of the most well-known modeling tools using any notation such as UML, SysML, BPMN, ArchiMate, ER, etc. Artifacts shown on the Confluence page can be model elements as well as diagrams. Various Smartfacts functionalities can be used, such as commenting and graphical version diff. The supported modeling tools are Cameo Systems Modeler, Enterprise Architect, Innovator, MagicDraw, Matlab Simulink and Rhapsody. You can also use the Smartfacts harvester to add references into SQL database schemas of a large number of databases.

  • Restricting the Jira add-on to distinct user groups
The Confluence Consumer is often used in large teams where only a subset of users works with OSLC Links. In this case, the add-on allows you to restrict the functionality to certain Confluence groups of users. This will avoid confusion for users that do not work with OSLC content.

  • Confluence Server edition and Data Center edition supported
The add-on can be run on the Confluence Server Edition as well as on the Confluence Data Center Edition on one to many nodes. Only one binary is provided to run on both environments.

  • SSL as well as http connection supported
Linking Jira to Jazz can be done based on an SSL/https connection or on a non-SSL/http connection.

Here is a video that demos the use of the Confluence OSLC Connector.

    • DOORS via DWA

    • IBM Jazz Engineering Test Management

    • IBM Jazz Engineering Workflow Management

  • IBM Jazz Configuration Management supported

Use a global configuration to filter the content of a Confluence page.

  • Any number of global config management servers supported

  • GC ON and GC OFF supported

The integration can be run with global config management enabled or disabled. While Confluence pages are not configured, you can still predefine a global configuration as a context for your page. Reference Any Modeling Tool Content via Smartfacts

Using the Engineering Collaboration Platform Smartfacts, allows you to add references to any of the most well-known modeling tools using any notation.

  • Wide range of modeling tools supported, among these

    • ARIS

    • Cameo

    • Enterprise Architect

    • Innovator

    • MagicDraw

    • Matlab Simulink

    • Rhapsody

    • more to come

  • Any notation supported, such as

    • UML

    • SysML

    • BPMN

    • ArchiMate

    • Entity Relationship

  • Reference different types of artifacts

    • Diagrams, including rich functionality provided by Smartfacts, like commenting, version diff, diagram details, etc.

    • Model Elements, including rich functionality provided by Smartfacts, like version diff

    • Smartfacts Analysis

  • You can also use the Smartfacts harvester to add references into SQL database schemas of a large number of databases.

  • Model artifacts provided by Smartfacts can be referenced in a specific version or in always the latest version. The later allows to build self-updating Confluence pages: As soon as a new version of a model is published, the Confluence page will show this version - in contrary to a screen-shot that will always remain static, cannot be commented, zoomed, versioned, etc.

  • SSL as well as HTTP connection supported
