Analysis Center
Examine a Model in Detail
The Analysis Center provides a growing number of analysis that can be selected to examine a model in detail.
Loading the Analysis Center to the left or right compartment of the split view allows you to select an analysis from the drop-down, define parameters of the analysis and run it.
Types of Analysis
Check Traceability
Select element types and relationship types and retrieve...
...all elements that DO have OSLC links of one of the selected link types to an element of the selected type
...all elements that DO NOT have OSLC links of one of the selected link types to an element of the selected typeCheck Traceability Against Indexed Models
Indexed models are external models that are regularly indexed. The indexing parameters like the indexing frequency can be defined via the main menu > Indexed Models.Traceability Browser
The traceability browser is a feature to carry out advanced analysis across all data sources involved in a global configuration. If you use global configurations must be defined in under My Project in the PROFILE tab.Links Between Models
This analysis requests two contexts from the project tree. A context is a node and all elements transitive down of this node. So, specifying two nodes in the project tree will deliver all links between all elements transitive down of both selected nodes.Select Elements by Criteria
Select elements in the given context that match a certain name or regular expression pattern or one of a list of selected types.Select Elements by Criteria Tree
This analysis allows you to define a tree of criteria including element type and property value to retrieve a list of matching results.Impact Analysis
Select an element to be changed, element types and relationship types for an analysis which elements will be impacted by the change.Treemap
This analysis allows you to select elements of a given context by certain criteria, such as the number of comments, number of OSLC links of a certain type etc. The result is a map of the model with those diagrams highlighted which match the selected criteria. Hovering over the icon of a colorized results tile provides the delegated UI of the results item and allows to load it to the left or to the right.
The list of analysis will be extended.
Common Features Across All Analyses
Select a context: Define a context by selecting a node in the project tree via the My Content picker. The context for the analysis will be all model elements transitive down of the selected node, including the node itself. The context must be a model node. It cannot be a folder.
Define analysis specific parameters: Every analysis has its own specific parameters.
The Start button runs the analysis using the given parameters.
Store the analysis in the project tree: Having specified an analysis by context and parameters, you can store this analysis including its parameters in a folder of the project tree by clicking the button Store Analysis at the bottom of the parameters container.
Result view and raw data view: All results are provided as a nicely rendered list of result view and a raw data view which lists the results in an Excel sheet.
The result view usually consists of model elements and diagrams. Via 'rich hover' any of these elements can be viewed in detail and loaded into the left or right compartment of the split view.
The raw data view is an Excel sheet that can be stored in the project tree or downloaded. The raw data view does not carry the parameters of the analysis that were used to generate it. It is just a plain Excel sheet of result data. It is sometimes useful to store the raw data of a large result set. Simple analyses can easily be re-run by storing them in the project tree and re-running them by just right-clicking and opening them to the left or to the right compartment of the split view.
The four buttons at the very top of every raw data view allow you to do the following:
Open: Selecting a cell in the results sheet allows you to open the element on the other side of the split view
Download: Download the Excel results file to your local machine
Save: Save the Excel results file to the project tree
Delete: Delete the currently selected sheet of the Excel results file
Clicking the  button in the bottom row of the Excel results file will add a new sheet to the Excel results file.
